Yesterday was a pretty exciting day in New York City! Besides a US Airways jet making a spectacular water landing in the Hudson, there was this cab fire outside the uptown Spring Street subway stop in Soho.

This year we went to the Bowery Ballroom to see the fantastic Patti Smith. A great way -- maybe one of the best ways -- to rock into the new year. By the time we got back to Brooklyn we had a craving for... pancakes and french fries!
